The purpose of Alpha Delta Pi is to cultivate sisterhood among its members in a manner that supports academic, social, and ethical growth. Alpha Delta Pi was founded on the principles of knowledge, character, service to others and sisterhood. These principles still guide the policies and programs of the sorority today. "We live for each other," our open motto, is the foundation of Alpha Delta Pi’s sisterhood. Our motto describes the close bond formed between each Alpha Delta Pi sister.

Alpha Kappa Alpha's mission is to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and friendship among college women, to study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature, to maintain a progressive interest in college life, and to be of "Service to All Mankind".

To be considered a candidate for membership in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, the undergraduate must be a woman of high ethical and moral standards, matriculating as a full time student in a school in the community where a city chapter of undergraduate status is located, and must have creditably completed one grading period in school. They must provide two written references from persons who can attest to these qualities. Undergraduate candidates must have attained the semester average of C+ and the cumulative average of C+ in the semester immediately prior to submitting an application for membership. Candidates must provide two written documents as evidence of detailed community/campus involvement from a director or advisor of the activity or program. An undergraduate who is the daughter, granddaughter, adopted daughter, stepdaughter or legal ward of an active or deceased soror is considered a Legacy Candidate. This undergraduate may apply for membership under this provision. The living family-member soror must have been active for at least two years immediately preceding the membership application for Legacy Candidate. Any undergraduate who applies for membership under the Legacy provision must meet all of the qualifications required for undergraduate membership. She will not be subject to a vote by the chapter. Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is a dues paying organization. For more information on the prospective cost of membership for our chapter you must attend the formal rush for the Rho Alpha Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. Anti-Hazing Policy- All existing and prospective members have the right to be treated with dignity and respect. These rights are enforced by punishing violations of the Sorority's policies and procedures. A cornerstone of the Sorority's Risk Management policy is the prohibition of hazing. Hazing has been prohibited in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority since the organization was founded in 1908. In 1999, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority reaffirmed its total opposition to hazing with the publication of a tougher anti-hazing policy and the implementation of new procedures to identify, investigate and punish incidents. Hazing will not be tolerated in any form. Definition of Hazing: Hazing is defined as an act or series of acts that include, but are not limited to: Physical acts, such as hitting, striking, laying hands upon or threatening to do bodily harm to any individual(s), while acting in one's capacity as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Behavior which is directed against any individual(s) for the purpose of causing shame, abuse, insult, humiliation, intimidation or disgrace. A variety of prohibited practices, including but not limited to, "underground hazing," "financial hazing," "pre-pledging," "post-pledging" or "post-initiation pledging." Any individual or chapter violation of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority's Risk Management policy will result in suspension, expulsion or revocation of the chapter's charter. A fine may also be imposed.

The Collegiate Panhellenic Council (CPC) represents the four Panhellenic sororities including Alpha Delta Pi, Chi Omega, and Delta Zeta. As we are all values-based organizations, we found that our community needed to reconnect and remember the reason for our founding. Each of our individual chapters and the Panhellenic Council were founded on four pillars: scholarship, leadership, community service/philanthropy, and sisterhood. When an individual joins a Panhellenic sorority at UMKC, they are assured a well-rounded experience that will include all four pillars during their college days. The all-sorority GPA is consistently higher than the all-women’s GPA at UMKC, some of the most prominent leaders on campus are members of Panhellenic, service opportunities are abundantly available, and sisterhood is formed within the chapters and among the community.

When six young women came together in 1902 to form a social sorority, they had a vision of lifetime sisterhood fostered by ideals that they cherished.

The six friends bonded quickly as they faced the challenges of starting a sorority on a male-dominated campus, as women had just been given full status as students at Miami University.
Alfa Lloyd, Mary Collins, Anna Keen, Julia Bishop, Mabelle Minton and Anne Simmons met with Dr. Guy Potter Benton, then president of the university, to make their idea a reality.

Delta Zeta Sorority was founded at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, in 1902. It was the first sorority to be founded at the university.

The Founders then went on to lay the foundation for a Sorority which would have a national reach. Today, Delta Zeta has enriched the lives of over 260,000 alumnae and collegiate members in the United States and Canada.

The purpose of the Interfraternity Council includes but is not limited to the following:
A. To promote relationships that are conducive to the general preservation of the fraternity system at the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
B. To improve the fraternity experience through helping the fraternity system to remain acceptable and relevant to student life as it changes on our campus.
C. To serve as a forum for deliberation for the consideration of the mutual concerns of member organizations.
D. To provide assistance to any fraternity in the accomplishment of its goals and activities when such assistance is considered appropriate.
E. To provide programs and activities├óÔé¼┼í both developmental and social├óÔé¼┼í for all member organizations in order to help improve their functioning.
F. To provide common experiences that encourage cooperation and unity among organizations.
G. To initiate resolutions and recommendations that will further the purposes and ideals of member organizations.
H. To uphold and promote the fraternity criteria of the North American Interfraternity Conference (NIC) and the Association of Fraternal Leadership and Values (AFLV).

Membership shall be open to all duly enrolled UMKC students. Membership and activities are open to all currently enrolled students regardless of race, color, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, national origin, disability, or veteran status. IFC dues are $12.50 per member. Any Potential New Member shall meet the following GPA requirement in order to be accepted as a New Member by any Member Fraternity: A. A minimum high school GPA of 2.7 for first semester freshmen; or B. A minimum college of GPA of either 2.7; or at/above the institutions all-men's average from the previous semester, whichever was lower, from the semester prior to joining.
