Trans Week of Celebration
November 17th-21st
In honor of Trans Day of Remembrance on November 20th, we are taking the week to celebrate and uplift the trans and nonbinary community here at UMKC! We will have several events throughout the week to highlight the resilience and power of this community. These events are open to all UMKC students, faculty and staff.
Trans 101
Wednesday, November 19th
12-1pm in SU 302
Join us for an allyship and community building training for students, faculty and staff. Open to all regardless of experience level.
Trans Joy Crafternoons: Zine Workshop
Wednesday, November 19th
3-5 pm in Fine Arts 205
Join us for a zine-making workshop hosted by ASTR (astringent) Press. Students will have a step-by-step process of zine creation from a professional zine creator and publisher local to Kansas City, MO! Limited spots available, you must sign up on RooGroups in advance!

Keynote speaker begins promptly at 6pm.
Join us for this community dinner featuring food from Conchas y Chisme and Baba’s Pantry. Following the keynote speaker, UMKC Trans+ will be hosting an open mic. We invite you to bring something to share.
Trans Day of Remembrance Vigil
November 20th from 6-8 pm

This vigil is an opportunity to honor the lives lost in the trans and nonbinary community. We welcome you to pay your respects throughout the evening.
Thanksgiving: A Trans+ Gratitude Night

This Transgiving: Trans+ Gratitude Night is hosted by UMKC Trans+ and will feature tabling from Trans Joy KC and Trans Guys Gather KC and various other activities.
